Mashed potatoes (may be thickened with wheat flour)

Mustard (if there's grain vinegar or beer in it)

Prescription and over-the-counter drugs (may contain wheat as a filler)

Rice syrup (may contain barley malt. Look for the GF label)

Salad Dressing

Seitan

Smoke flavoring (used in jerkies, smoked fish and meats, etc)

Soup stocks

Soups (canned, dehydrated, and restaurant soups often have wheat in them)

Soy sauce/tamari (unless it specifies that it is wheat free. Most soy sauces contain wheat as the first or second ingredient)

Udon noodles (unless they are made solely from buckwheat, which some are)

Vanilla extract (the alcohol in it is not GF; look for GF vanilla extract or vanilla extracted into glycerin)

Veined cheeses (the cultured molds used in blue cheese, gorgonzola, stilton, and

Roquefort may be adulterated. Check with manufacturers)

Vinegar (unless it's properly distilled. However, rice vinegar, wine vinegar, and apple cider vinegar are GF)
